Diverse Peoples of the West - Lesson

In this lesson you will learn about six groups of people who lived in the West during the 1800s. Some groups benefited by moving to the West, while some groups were harmed by the arrival of the newcomers.

This picture shows a wagon wheel or spoke diagram that represents the differences and similarities among groups who lived in the West in the 1800s. Read Section 17.2 America's Past Textbook - Diverse Peoples of the West to understand what inspired people to move westward.
